Gabrielle Angey is currently Assistant Professor of Modern Turkey at the University of Graz (Austria). She teaches International Relations, Sociology of religion, and Political sociology. She holds a PhD in Political Sociology from the École des Hautes Études des Sciences Sociales (EHESS). She speaks English, Spanish, and Turkish. She conducted multi-sited field research on a Turkish Islamic network in Turkey, Kenya, Senegal and South Africa. Her recent works focus on the sociology of commitment to transnational Islamic networks.
