Dawn Marie Paley is a journalist from Vancouver, BC. She’s been based in Mexico since 2011.
Drug War Capitalism, her first book, was released in November 2014, with AK Press.
She’s written for magazines and newspapers galore, including the The Nation, The Dominion, Ms. Magazine, The Tyee, the Georgia Straight, Briarpatch, NACLA Reports, This Magazine, Canadian Dimension, Counterpunch, The Vue Weekly, Watershed Sentinel and Upside Down World. Her work in radio and television has been featured on Democracy Now!, Free Speech Radio News, and CBC Radio.
Dawn has a PhD in Sociology from the Autonomous University of Puebla, Mexico. Her dissertation project examines neoliberal war and neoliberal disappearance–and resistance to it–in Mexico, in particular in the Laguna region in the northern state of Coahuila.
