Arthur Quesnay has worked on Iraq since 2009 and Syria since 2011, and worked in Libya between 2011 and 2013.
He holds PhD in Political Science and has taught at Paris-1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University, where he is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow of the ERC « Social Dynamics of Civil Wars » program. From 2012 to 2014 he held a scholarship from the Institut Français du Proche-Orient (IFPO) in Erbil. He holds a BA in Arabic from INALCO and a Master’s in Political Science (2009-2011) from Paris-1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University.
Since 2009, his research focuses on sectarian conflits in northern Iraq and rebel movements in Libya and Syria. He co-edited, with Adam Baczko and Gilles Dorronsoro, Syrie : anatomie d’une guerre civile, (CNRS Editions, 2016.)
