María Teresa is a Latin America Analyst, with a particular focus on Mexico. Her research addresses businessmen and protection mechanisms; government and non-government policing practices; violent configurations and corruption.
She is a Professor-Researcher at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Campus Monterrey. She holds a PhD and a Master’s degree in Political Science from Sciences Po, Paris. She has conducted several months of fieldwork in cities such as Guadalajara, Querétaro, Morelia and Mexico City.
She has also collaborated as consultant in several research projects with civil society organizations and firms as Observatorio Nacional Ciudadano, Mexico Evalúa, Identa Consultores and Spin: Taller de Comunicación Política.
