Denia Chebli is a Mali Analyst. Her research explores political transformations of armed groups during both the war and the peace process.
She is currently writing a thesis in Political Science at Paris-1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University and is a member of the ERC « Social Dynamics of Civil Wars » program. She was trained in documentary filmmaking at the Ateliers Varan and obtained her Master’s in Social Anthropology at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) in Paris. Her previous research addressed the creation of the National Movement for the Liberation of Azawad (Mouvement National de Libération de l’Azawad, MNLA) in North Mali. She conducts research in Mauritania, Algeria, Niger, Morocco and Mali.
