Yohanan Benhaim

He is currently enrolled in a PhD program at Paris 1 Panthéon – Sorbonne University. He is based at the French Institute of Anatolian Studies (IFEA) in Istanbul which granted him an academic scholarship. He holds a Bachelor in History and Political Science from the Paris 1 Panthéon – Sorbonne University, a Master’s degree in International Security from Sciences Po Paris and a Master’s degree in History of International Relations from Paris 1 Panthéon – Sorbonne University. His Master’s thesis was on the relations between Turkey and Central Asia during the 1990’s and he studied at Boğaziçi University in Istanbul.

His PhD thesis explores the evolution of Turkish foreign policy in Iraqi Kurdistan since the 1990’s to nowadays and its relations with the development in Turkish domestic politics.

He conducted fieldwork in Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, and Iraq.
