Dr. Mariam Mufti is a comparative political scientist by training. She works on regime change and political participation in hybrid regimes. Apart from academic research, Dr. Mufti has considerable policy-relevant, consultancy experience, having authored monographs for The Asia Foundation, Center for Strategic International Studies and Department for International Development (DFID). She also writes frequently for widely-read international newspapers and magazines on the politics in South Asia. She teaches at courses on domestic and international politics of South Asia at the University of Waterloo.
