Adam Baczko is a Civil Wars Analyst and conducts comparative research on how armed groups implement judicial procedures.
He is a PhD candidate in Social Sciences at EHESS and Junior Research Fellow in the ERC « Social Dynamics of Civil Wars » program at Paris-1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University. He was recently a Trajectories of Change Fellow at the Zeit Stiftung, Junior Visiting Fellow at IWM in Vienna and Visiting Student Fellow at the Program on Order, Conflict and Violence at Yale University.

He holds a Master’s in Social Sciences from EHESS and a joint BA in War Studies and History from King’s College London. With Gilles Dorronsoro and Arthur Quesnay, he co-authored Syria: Anatomy of a Civil War (CNRS Editions, 2016.) He has conducted field research in Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
